On the GUiT Trail on Galeri Perdana (RTM 1 TONITE!!!)

Just a quick note before we leave for London.

Our last few days were spent, yet again on the GUiT trail as RTM had requested that we do a kind of Jejak Awang Goneng for Galeri Perdana (Starting tonight 28th Jan at 8.45'sh pm) .

We were back filming for two days – two hot but very rewarding and emotional two days, as AG went back to places, which he had not seen since he let Terengganu, met up with friends and teachers and most important and interesting of all we went on the Beluda trail, followed by the crew from Astro in search of the Beluda after the Terengganu roti was given a fresh airing in GUiT.

Jejak Awang Goneng will be in several short parts - So, do stay tuned.

We went to capture beautiful and enchanting Trengganu.....

was given a treat of Siti Payung by the son of an old Guru

Witnessed the making of the beluda......

What's the story with the genta?

A meeting with a member of the Pok Loh Yunang clan to hear the background of their migration to Trengganu.

A meeting with his first teacher from Sekolah Rendah Ladang.

and much, much more.....

Thanks to Sdr Karim who recorded the first two episodes. Actually The first episode was a little longer than what was required so, it was split up into two episodes...by then I had left the big building on the hill.

Part 1

Part 2
part 3

part 4

(sigh!!!! How I wish I was there to edit them myself!)
The final part is here.

A disclaimer: Part three was not edited by me...The ending was taken from somewhere else in the script. There was supposed to be a bit on Trengganuspeak. Alas I couldnt be there to see that everything was in place.

Psssst! GUiT has climbed up to no. 1 best seller non -fiction at MPH again! And no. 1 best seller non fiction for Monsoon Books!

I haven't been watching RTM during prime time for ages, but that routine will be changed from tonite onwards. A timely lifestyle change? Why not when Kak Teh also underwent a lifestyle change, from writer to director!

It must be one heck of a journey during those two days of shooting, wish I could tag along... hehehe...

Yours is the sweetest and most "lunak" voice I have ever heard of a narrator and I hope you dont mind me saying that the chemistry between you & AG - really shines on TV... Enjoyed the segments todate especially the Beluda - what can I say - am a foodie through & through.

Have a safe journey back to the UK!

Kak Teh.. i'm so excited when watching Galeri Perdana about Jejak Awang Goneng (must buy that book soon!) and so excited with the 'beluda in making'. Not even see or hear the beluda before although i'm born in Trengganu.. hmm.. I'm excited to try the beluda very soon.. but.. i don't have a detail recipe of beluda.. That's why i'm searching for beluda recipe in the internet and i came across your blog. If you don't mind (and if you have the detail recipe..) could you please email me a detail recipe of Beluda ? Thanks in advanced Kak Teh..

athene, thanks for everything - we are back home and its cold and wet and gloomy. How I yearn for the sun and sea of penang and not forgetting roti tissue!!!

ood, aita - its either my finger or my keyboard! semua tak boleh harap...but i do hope you've managed to dethrone him, even if its for a while.

aMiR - hope you watched it...They messed up with the editing but how can i complain when i wasnt there. I was hoping that I could bring it back to edit in London...what to do!

Kak Teh said...

honeytar, thanks for everything -wish we had more time together!

atok, maih testing?

mat redo1,
most of the interesting shots were unplanned - those planned didnt materialise but that is the challenges of programme making. The appearance of Pok Ibrahim with his violin was a real boon for us...he just appeared as if on cue!

Kak Teh said...

zi, i feel bad promoting Terengganu all the time - yes, i must do a GUiK even if it is only in my blog!

pak adib, thank you for your support - yes we slept through the flight and jejak awang Goneng was a real emotional journey for my husband. I wish we had more time to do the programme - it was all so last minute.

honeytar's sister - thank you, thank you. and yes, the font is a tad too small. I am yearning for that beehoon goreng you served.
